Project Details
This 60,000-square-foot, two-story facility for Newark Charter School in Newark, DE, accommodates 640 students in grades 5-8. The new building contains a large multi-purpose room, band room, media center, and computer room, as well as classrooms and administrative areas.
Architects and engineers designed the building to be supported by its steel stud walls. This allowed High Construction to speed up construction by using factory panelized walls, which were necessary to meet a very demanding schedule. The exterior is a combination of brick, stucco, and dryvit.
This project represents High Construction's third charter school project in Delaware in three years. Charter Schools are known for having very tight construction schedules and budgets. High Construction has been able to help them succeed by being actively involved with the architects, engineers, and school officials from the very start of the project in order to ensure their success.
